Xtreme BRAKE FLUID DOT 5.1 is a full synthetic, non-silicone, brake fluid for modern brake systems.  This product gives higher performance versus Brake Fluid DOT 4.

Xtreme BRAKE FLUID DOT 5.1 shows the following features:

  • Very high boiling point / low vapour pressure,
  • Satisfactory viscosity over a wide temperature range,
  • Appropriate fluidity at low temperatures,
  • Good stability and properties retention,
  • Adequate compatibility with rubber,
  • Satisfactory lubrication performances,
  • Good compatibility with the various metals in the brake system,
  • Miscibility with other approved fluids of same type.

The water tolerance is very important for the above product as a small amount of water in inevitably picked up in service. The presence of water lowers the boiling point and increases the possibility of unsatisfactory brake performance due to vapour locking.

Xtreme BRAKE FLUID DOT 5.1 continues to operate satisfactorily even with limited water contamination: its boiling point does not fall below 180 °C in wet conditions.

Xtreme BRAKE FLUID DOT 5.1 is suitable for braking circuits operating in very conditions severe, particularly on motorcycles equipped with disc brakes and used in competition.

This synthetic fluid is miscible with all other DOT 5.1, DOT 4 or DOT 3 synthetic fluids except DOT 5 silicone-based fluids and LHM liquids.

Xtreme BRAKE FLUID DOT 5.1 has a density higher than water.  It is hygroscopic and therefore it must be preserved in closed containers.
